- The Indian President, introduced the modern stealth frigate dubbed INS Vindhya Giri.
- This is the sixth of the seven vessels being constructed for the Navy as part of Project 17 Alpha.
- The frigate is the third and last stealth frigate for the Navy.
- The Project 17A vessels boasted in-house designs by the country’s Warship Design Bureau.
