- The government is setting up a jungle warfare school at Karregutta Hills in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, a former Maoist stronghold.
- The school will train forces like the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Chhattisgarh Police, and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) in special jungle and cave intervention tactics.
- Karregutta Hills, with difficult terrain including caves and waterfalls, was cleared of Naxal control in April 2025 after a major CRPF operation.
- This real terrain will help improve training quality.
- CRPF leads counter-insurgency and anti-Naxal operations, with around 100 battalions currently deployed for such tasks.
