- Justice Abhilasha Kumari was sworn-in as new Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur.
- Governor Dr Najma Heptulla administered her the oath of office at Raj Bhavan in Imphal.
- With this, she became first women and third full-time Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
- Earlier She was the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court. Alaso She is the daughter of the former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
- The first Chief Justice is Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre. Prior to its establishment, a bench of Gauhati HC had jurisdiction over the state of Manipur.
