- The discovered bacteria belong to the family Methylobacteriaceae.
- The name given was Methylobacterium ajmalii.
- They have named it after an Indian biodiversity scientist Seyed Ajmal Khan.
- Seyed Ajmal Khan is a professor at the Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu.
