- The Tamilnadu CM raised the shutters of Mettur dam to release water for Kuruvai cultivation.
- This was the 18th time water was being released for Kuruvai cultivation on June 12.
- It targets to benefit 16.05 lakh acres.
- Irrigation will be across Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Ariyalur, Preambular, Pudukkottai, and Cuddalore districts.
