The MSTrIPES (Monitoring System for Tigers: Intensive Protection and Ecological Status) app is being used for the All-India Tiger Estimation Survey 2026 in Anamalai Tiger Reserve.
The Forest staff will enter real-time data using GPS-enabled devices instead of manual recording.
The survey will cover tigers, prey animals, vegetation, and transect distance from January 8 to 14, 2026.
Anamalai Tiger Reserve covers 1,108 square kilometres in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts of Tamil Nadu.
The All-India Tiger Estimation is conducted once every four years.
