  • According to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) annual report 2024, Punjab seized 1,150 kg of heroin.

  • New Delhi ranked second with nearly 234 kg of heroin seized in 2024.
  • Punjab also led in seizure of habit-forming tablets, with 2.94 crore pills confiscated.
  • Uttar Pradesh was second with 51 lakh habit-forming pills seized.
  • In 2024, there were 179 drone-related narcotics seizures compared to three in 2021.
  • Punjab had 163 drone seizures involving 187 kg of heroin, 5.4 kg of methamphetamine, and 4.2 kg of opium.
  • Nepalese nationals topped arrests among foreigners in India for drug-related offenses in 2024, with 203 arrests.
  • Nigeria was second with 106 foreign nationals arrested in drug cases in 2024.
