  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the Sapta Dhara (Shakti Ki Sapta dhara) framework during his Independence Day address on 15 August 2026.
  • It aims to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, covering seven major areas of national development.
  • The seven areas are manufacturing; agriculture and food processing; technology and innovation; Gati Shakti; defence self-reliance; green and blue economy; and India’s soft power.
  • Under technology and innovation, the government plans to train 1 crore youth in Artificial Intelligence (AI) over the next year.
  • India has set a target of 100 GW nuclear energy capacity by 2047, with five new nuclear reactors expected to become operational in the next 6–7 years.
