National Startup Day 2026 - January 16

It was observed on 16 January 2026 to mark 10 years of the Startup India Initiative.
The initiative was launched in 2016 to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in India.
It is implemented by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
India has more than 2,00,000 DPIIT-recognised startups across various sectors.
The day was officially declared in 2022 to recognise the role of startups in economic growth.
