- The dataset highlights that over 80% of tree inventory datasets remain non-public, and biodiversity-rich regions such as the Northern Western Ghats, Northeastern India, Western Himalayas, and Nicobar Islands are under-sampled.
- It also identifies data gaps in regions facing rapid forest loss, especially North East and Eastern India.
- The dataset supports carbon storage assessment, biodiversity monitoring, climate change studies, and sustainable forest management.
