	- The European Union (EU) will replace the traditional Schengen visa sticker with a secure digital barcode called a two-dimensional (2D) barcode.
 
	- Indian travellers can apply fully online by uploading documents, paying visa fees, tracking status and receiving a digitally signed visa.
 
	- Biometrics submission will be required in person only for first-time applicants, but frequent travellers will benefit from faster processing.
 
	- The Entry Exit System (EES) using fingerprint and facial recognition will replace passport stamps starting October 2025.
