- Mangrove species planted include Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia marina, and Excoecaria agallocha.
- The invasive species Prosopis juliflora was removed before planting the mangroves.
- A fishbone layout with three main canals and 62 distribution canals was created across the island.
- The fishbone structure was constructed to support water flow and mangrove growth.
- The green belt aims to reduce erosion and support biodiversity in the Adyar Estuary.
