- Researchers discovered two new marine worm species along the West Bengal coast in the northern Bay of Bengal.
- The species are Namalycastis solenotognatha and Nereis dhritiae.
- Nereis dhritiae is named after Dhriti Banerjee, Director of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI).
- These nereidid (polychaete) worms help in nutrient cycling and sediment aeration.
