- Non-profit Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has released its annual report named 'State of India’s Environment 2023: In Figures'.
- Telangana has ranked at the top for its progress in increasing its forest cover and in municipal waste treatment.
- It is followed by Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat.
- Telangana increased the green cover from 22 per cent to 33 per cent.
- A remarkable 24.06 per cent of geographical area in the state is covered with forests.
