- The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has planned to expand the target of PM-KUSUM.
- The new target of the scheme has been enhanced to achieve solar capacity of 30.8 GW (from 25.7 GW) by 2022.
- The scheme was launched to help farmers install solar pumps and other renewable power plants.
