- The Dublin-based architects are the first two women to share the prestigious global award.
- Their remarkable projects include the University of Engineering and Technology in Lima, Peru, which also won the RIBA International Prize.
- It is referred to as “modern-day Machu Picchu”.
- The Pritzker Architecture Prize is awarded annually to honour a living architect or architects.
- It is often referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture.
- Founded in 1979 by Jay A. Pritzker and his wife Cindy, the award is funded by the Pritzker family and sponsored by the Hyatt Foundation.
