	- Gujarat has become India’s leading producer of processed potatoes used for the French fries and chips in 2024–25.
- Banaskantha district leads Gujarat in processed potato production for the third consecutive year.
- It was producing 18.70 lakh tonnes from over 61,000 hectares in 2024–25.
- This is an increase from 15.62 lakh tonnes produced in 2023–24.
- Banaskantha’s productivity is 30.65 tonnes per hectare, meeting high demand for French fry-quality potatoes.
