- The recently concluded 2023 National Games had 11,000 athletes from across India participated in 45 different sports.
- Maharashtra finished with a total of 228 medals, including 80 gold, 69 silver and 79 bronze medals.
- SSCB (Services Sports Control Board), run by Indian Armed Forces, finished second, bagging 66 gold, 27 silver and 33 bronze medals.
- Haryana were third in the standings with 62 gold, 54 silver and 73 bronze.
- Maharashtra claimed the prestigious Raja Bhalindra Singh Rolling Trophy for the overall championship, which they hadn't achieved since 1994.
