The Roadmap for Viksit Krishi was unveiled on 16 July 2026 during the 98th Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as a key pillar of Viksit Bharat 2047.
It aims to make Indian agriculture climate-resilient, technology-driven and globally competitive.
The roadmap has 7 goals: 100 Climate Smart Villages, One Institute–One Grand Innovation, Technology Outreach to 100 million farmers, Mission ICAR-100, ICAR Open Digital Knowledge Platform, Counterfeit Seed & Pesticide Control, and ₹10,000 crore resource generation by 2029.
Mission ICAR-100 will transform Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) into innovation, climate advisory and farmer support centres.
The Digital Knowledge Platform will provide free crop advisories, weather forecasts, soil testing and market information.
