 	- On May 30, 1863 British geologist Robert Foote discovered Palaeolithic tools at Chennai Pallavaram.
 
 	- Foote established that ancient man lived in these regions.
 
 	- It is considered as India’s first archaeological survey.
 
 	- He also found stone tools at Atirampakkam which are 1.5 million years old.
