- Magahi writer Shesh Anand Madhukar was honoured with the Sahitya Akademi’s BhashaSamman Award 2018.
- With this, he became the second writer of Magahi language to be given the award.
- In Magahi, his well-acclaimed works are "Eklavya" and "Magahi Bhulachal Hey".
- Sahitya Akademi currently honours writers from 24 regional languages, but Bhasha Samman identifies those languages (Not among Sahitya Akademi’s 24 language) which are equally spoken in different parts of the country.
- The Bhasha Samman award is an attempt to make the writers of other languages feel equally important.
