SCO Cultural Capital - Lahore

Lahore, Pakistan, has been named the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Tourism and Cultural Capital for 2026–27 at the 26th SCO Council of Heads of State meeting in Bishkek.
The title has been rotated annually since 2022 to promote tourism, people-to-people contacts and the cultural heritage of SCO member states.
Previous title holders were Varanasi (India), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Qingdao (China) and Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan).
Pakistan holds the SCO presidency in 2026, with the theme “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity.”
The SCO, founded in 2001 and headquartered in Beijing, has 10 member states and marks its 25th anniversary in 2026.
