Sewage Problem of Seine River - France

Paris reopened the River Seine for public swimming for the first time since 1923 after a century-long sewage pollution issue.
The clean-up was driven by preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games, where the river hosted open-water events.
The city’s old sewage system caused untreated waste to overflow into the river during heavy rains, raising dangerous levels of E coli bacteria.
