- Odisha Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for India’s first silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor plant in Bhubaneswar.
- The facility, approved under the India Semiconductor Mission, involves an investment of ₹2,067 crore and will be operational by 2027-28.
- The plant will support critical sectors such as electric vehicles, railways, data centres, renewable energy, and industrial automotive systems.
