- A survey recorded 83 odonate species in Silent Valley National Park, Kerala.
- Six new species were added, raising the total from 103 to 109 species in the park.
- The newly found species are Long Legged Clubtail (Merogomphus longistigma), Fraser’s Torrent Hawk (Macromia irata), Dark Daggerhead (Macromidia donaldi), Blue-necked Reedtail (Protosticta mortoni), Wayanad Torrent Dart (Euphaea wayanadensis), and Black and Yellow Bambootail (Elattoneura tetrica).
- Three species from the genus Euphaea indicate excellent freshwater quality.
