Andhra Pradesh has started a new project called the Smart Mosquito Surveillance System (SMoSS) to control mosquito problems during the rainy season.
The project will run in 66 locations across the six cities — Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram, Nellore, and Kurnool.
The system uses Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and drones to check the mosquito types, numbers, and the weather conditions like temperature and humidity.
Drones will spray the mosquito-killing chemicals faster, using less time, fewer chemicals, and lower costs.
A live dashboard will show real-time data to a central system for fast and clear tracking.
