- India defeated Bangladesh to win the fifth South East Asian Women Handball Championship at K.D. Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow.
- The Handball Federation of India, in collaboration with the South Asian Handball Federation, recently organised the 5th Women’s South East Asian Handball Championship.
- Handball teams of five countries participated in the tournament and they are Bhutan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal and India.
- While Nepal finished as runner-ups in the five-country tournament, Bangladesh settled for the third spot and a bronze medal.
