  • It was released by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
  • It has stated that the last seven years have been the warmest on record and global sea-level rise accelerated since 2013, reaching a new high in 2021.
  • The report has attributed the record sea-level rise to warming up and acidification of ocean waters.
  • During the COP-26, the WMO launched the Water and Climate Coalition to coordinate water and climate action.
  • It also launched the Systematic Observations Financing Facility to improve weather observations and forecasts.
