- The Registrar General of India has asked all States to ensure the birth certificates are issued within 7 days of registration, ideally before newborns are discharged from hospitals, especially Government facilities.

- Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo have signed a US-brokered peace agreement to end years of deadly conflict and displacement.
