- Tejaswin Shankar won India’s first-ever Commonwealth Games medal in decathlon by securing bronze at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
- The Vizhinjam International Transshipment Seaport, Kerala, has been notified as a Customs Port by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), enabling Export-Import (EXIM) cargo operations.
- The port, which started operations in July 2024, earlier functioned only as an international transshipment hub for transferring containers between ships.
- The Indian Navy launched the fifth Diving Support Craft (DSC A24) at Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), Kolkata.
- Diving Support Crafts (DSCs) are specialised vessels used for underwater diving operations, inspections, repairs, and salvage activities in coastal and harbour areas.
- The Prime Minister launched the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' from Kashi (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh, as a 100-week nationwide anti-drug awareness campaign.
- The campaign was first launched as a pilot in Kashi and later expanded across India under the Kashi Declaration (2025).
- World Fintech Day is observed every year on 1 August to highlight innovations and progress in financial technology (FinTech) worldwide.
