  • The World Health Organisation has partnered with International Food and Beverage Alliance (IFBA) to eliminate Industrially produced trans fat.
  • Food makers use artificial trans fat to enhance the flavour, texture, and shelf life of processed foods.
  • In such products trans fat is listed as "partially hydrogenated oils."
  • Hydrogenation solidifies liquid oils and thus increases the shelf life and the flavour stability of foods that contain them.
