The Trek Tamil Nadu initiative was launched in 2024 to provide safe, guided, and eco-sensitive trekking experiences across Tamil Nadu.
In the past year, 15,500 trekkers, including 1,400 students and 150 international visitors, explored forest trails under this program.
The most popular trekking routes were Yelagiri-Swamimalai (2,209 trekkers), Gudiyam Caves (1,743), Baraliyar (982), Parsons Valley-Mukurthi Hut (835), and Avalanche-Kolaribetta (729).
The initiative plans to expand the number of curated trekking routes from 40 to 50.
Collaborations with the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will launch integrated eco-tour packages.
The initiative received the ‘Most Exclusive Product Award’ at TTF Chennai 2025 and the ‘Best Niche Tourism Operator Award’ at the Tamil Nadu Tourism Awards 2025.
All treks are conducted in accordance with the Tamil Nadu Forest and Wildlife (Regulation of Trekking) Rules, 2018, ensuring safety, sustainability, and ecological balance.
