The State-Level Watershed Mahotsav 2025 was inaugurated in Kohima, Nagaland, along with the launch of Mission Watershed Punarutthan.
The mission aims to rejuvenate traditional water bodies, restore degraded land, and enhance water-harvesting systems through active community participation.
Its goals include ensuring water security, promoting rural sustainability, restoring ecological balance, and reviving springs and watershed structures.
Under the PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), fourteen watershed projects have been approved in Nagaland.
North Eastern States receive 90% central assistance for implementing watershed and water-security schemes.
