  • The report states that 9.1 million boys and 5.6 million girls currently vape, representing 7.2% of adolescents globally.
  • The WHO warns that vaping may undermine decades of tobacco control progress.
  • India enforces the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019, banning the production, sale, and advertisement of e-cigarettes.
  • First-time offenders in India face up to one year in prison or a fine of one lakh rupees.
