- The synchronised survey covered 8,989.63 square kilometres across 26 forest divisions using both direct and indirect methods.
- The Nilgiri Elephant Reserve reported the highest population with 2,419 elephants (Block Count) and 3,163 elephants (Dung Count).
- Adults made up 44 % of the population, and the sex ratio was recorded at 1 male to 1.77 females.
