- India has moved from 4th largest producer of crude steel to the second largest producer of crude steel from 2014-15 to 2022-23.
- India stands as a net exporter of steel witnessing an export of 6.72 MT of finished steel against the import of 6.02 MT in 2022-23.
- In the financial year 2022-23, India’s total finished Steel Production was 122.28 MT.
- It is an increase of 49 % as compared to 81.86 MT in financial year 2014-15.
