World AIDS Day 2025 - December 01

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system, especially the CD4 cells that help fight infections.
The day was first celebrated in 1988 as the world’s first global health day.
The aim is to promote prevention, testing, treatment, and to support people living with HIV.
The theme for 2025 is Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response.
In 2024, about 40.8 million people were living with HIV and 1.3 million acquired HIV.
