- Stop Pneumonia Initiative is run by Every Breath Counts Coalition, a public-private partnership.
- Pneumonia is the deadliest disease for children below five years.
- It is an acute respiratory infection commonly caused by virus or bacteria.
- According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a child dies from pneumonia every 39 seconds.
- The theme for this year is “Stop Pneumonia, Every breath counts”.
