World’s third-highest tiger density in 2025

  • Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) in Assam now has 148 tigers, with a density of 18.65 tigers per 100 sq km, making it the third-highest globally.
  • The updated tiger count was published in the Status of Tigers in Kaziranga, 2024 report.
  • In the tiger density rankings, Kaziranga is followed by Bandipur in Karnataka (19.83) and Corbett in Uttarakhand (19.56).
