- The 8th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2025 was organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) in Geneva, Switzerland.
- African Union joins Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) as 54th Member recently.
- During the event, India called for the creation of a global facility, backed by the UN system & multilateral financial institutions.
- This can be used to provide the catalytic funding, technical assistance, and as a platform for knowledge exchange.
