 	- Health and Family Welfare Ministry conducted its 8th round of National Deworming Day (NDD) across the country.
- It aims to reduce the prevalence of parasitic intestinal worms among children.
- It is being held on 10 February and 10 August each year.
 
 	- During the programme, Albendazole tablets were orally administered to pre-school and school-going children in the age group of 1 to 19 years.
- As per World Health Organisation report, 64 per cent of the Indian population under 14 years are at risk of such infections.
