- The Tamil Nadu government has added 38 revenue villages to the Srimushnam taluk in the Cauvery delta region.
- These villages were earlier part of Kattumannarkoil taluk, which was later divided into separate administrative units.
- This expansion was first announced by the Chief Minister in July 2025.
- A Government Order (G.O.) from the Water Resources Department confirmed the inclusion.
- With this move, the Cauvery delta region now covers more villages for better administration, irrigation support, and development planning.
- The newly added villages include Anandhakudi, Kokkarasanpettai, Mathakalirmanickam, Sri Sathamangalam, Gunamangalam, and 32 others.
