  • The Congress leader Kamal Nath, took oath as 18thChief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at Kanpur, Madhya Pradesh on 17 Dec 2018.
  • The Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office of Kamal Nath.
  • He Succeeds Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who hold the Office as Chief Minister from 2005 till 16th December 2018.

Election result

  • The Congress won 114 seats.
  • With the support of 1 Samajwadi Party legislator and 2 Bahujan Samaj Party legislators and 4 independents, it crossed the majority mark of 116 seats in the 230-member Assembly.
