During the Conversion Conclave 2026 held in Chennai,The Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has announced that 73.53 % of MoUs signed since mid-2021 have been converted into investment projects.
A total of 1,179 MoUs worth ₹12.37 lakh crore were signed in the last five years, with the potential to create 36.52 lakh jobs.
Out of these, 867 projects are in advanced stages of implementation, and 35.11 % of the projects are already operational.
According to data from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, about 29.63 lakh jobs were created in the last four years in Tamil Nadu.
The State government has organised 18 investment conclaves in Tamil Nadu and abroad, which resulted in 1,130 MoUs worth ₹10.43 lakh crore.
New MoUs were signed with the Bharat Biotech for a bio-similar manufacturing project and with Hyundai Motor India Foundation for a skill development centre in Kancheepuram.
Dabur India Ltd has also started construction of its first manufacturing plant in South India at Tindivanam.
