- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Gopal Baglay’s appointment in the PMO to the post for 3 years. He has been appointed in place of Vinay Mohan Kwatra, who has been already named as India’s ambassador to France.
- Baglay is a 1992 batch Indian foreign service (IFS) officer.
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) decides appointments to several top posts under the Government of India.
- The committee is composed of the Prime Minister of India (who is the Chairman), the Minister of Home Affairs.
