The 3rd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, under India’s G20 Presidency.
Five key areas were discussed: global economy and health, sustainable finance and infrastructure, international financial architecture, international taxation, and financial inclusion.
Members endorsed recommendations on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for financial inclusion and the G20 Financial Inclusion Action Plan (FIAP) 2024–26.
The meeting focused on global debt vulnerabilities, Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), climate finance and crypto-asset regulation, including concerns of emerging and developing economies.
India was appointed Co-Chair of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) and will help implement the new FIAP for 2024–26.
