Gorbea solar power project
- 435-megawatt (MW) Gorbea solar power project in Nokha, Bikaner, Rajasthan, was completed in under eight months.
- It will generate 755 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually, powering about 128,000 households.
- The project will reduce around 705,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year.
- Rajasthan’s total renewable energy capacity exceeds 35.4 gigawatts (GW), with 29.5 GW from solar and 5.2 GW from wind sources.
- India has achieved 50 per cent of its total installed power capacity from non-fossil sources, five years ahead of its 2030 target.
