Heritage Electric Theatre to turn Museum

- The Heritage Electric Theatre, on the Anna Road Head Post Office campus, is soon going to turn into a Museum exclusively for Philately, Stamp collection.
- It will be the first of its kind launched by the India Post which runs similar museums at New Delhi and Agra.
- It will have replicas of some of the oldest stamps and special covers in the country.
- The Electric Theatre, established in 1913, was the first theatre to screen silent films in Mount Road.
- At present, the theatre hosts a permanent philatelic exhibition with different themes every month.
