- The biggest breakthrough was the birth of Louise Brown on July 25, 1978, in England.
- In India, Dr Subhash Mukherjee was also working on IVF.
- And in less than three months of the birth of Louise Brown, Kanupriya Agarwal was born on October 3, 1978.
- Dr Subhash Mukhopadhyay named India's first IVF child as 'Durga' later on her parents renamed her Kanupriya.
- She became India's first and the world's second IVF baby.
