- The all-India survey is a joint venture of the Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications and TRAI.
- It aims to execute India’s largest village-level telecom network performance survey across 5.68 lakh villages.
- Over 1.4 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks (rural postal workers) will use a TRAI-developed Android app during routine deliveries to rate the coverage of Airtel, Jio, Vi, and BSNL.
- It aims to generate granular field-level data to identify "not-spots" (areas with no coverage) and guide future telecom infrastructure investments.
